Discover Strength
Through Self-Connection
Svahdyaya means self-study, in yoga philosophy. In my own explorations, I began my life as a passionate writer from a young age - dabbling in creative writing and poetry, with childhood dreams of becoming an author.

Building
My Yoga Journey
I completed my 200-hour at Rishikesh Vinyasa Yoga School in India and began teaching yoga in New Zealand – slowly building my career until I was teaching at various yoga studios in Auckland and running my own online yoga studio.
Realising a Misalignment
However, I realized at one point that I was learning so much, speaking so much, about all this magical philosophy, but it hit me: I wasn’t living according to my values, and my life didn’t match up to the wisdom of these teachings! I left my career in the corporate world, dropped all my classes, and headed out on an adventure.
Discovering
True Awareness
On this adventure, it clicked a bit for me. The learnings from yoga, which originate in the Vedas developed by the Rishis who meditated out in nature, the Tao De Ching (a Chinese philosophy based on the universal way of things), the simple peace I feel when spending time in the untouched New Zealand wilderness of the Far North, and the deep magical quality I feel in a poem, on the yoga mat, through my Reiki practice... it’s all the same thing. All paths to the same quality of awareness.
